SyncastRequest English pageWhat SyncastRequest Can Do
SyncastRequest improves inefficient operational processes in in-flight services,
providing a comfortable environment for both passengers and crew.
【Challenges】
Limited Communication Environment
Onboard, internet connectivity is limited, and services that rely on online communication may not be available.
Physical Distance and Psychological Burden
Passengers may hesitate to make requests due to the noisy cabin environment or physical distance.
Unfamiliar Operating Devices
The devices installed in the seats can be difficult to operate and inconvenient for passengers.
Inefficient Work Processes
Crew members need to patrol the cabin regularly, and there is a need for more efficient response processes.
The above challenges can be solved by using "SyncastRequest" as follows:
【Solutions】
Stable Communication Without Internet
This app communicates directly between devices, so no internet connection is required.
This not only allows it to be used anytime regardless of the communication environment but also reduces internet communication costs.
Smart Requests from Your Smartphone
Passengers can easily send requests from their smartphone app.
Since there is no need to speak, it is considerate of others, and people with hearing or speech impairments can also use it.
Intuitive and Easy Operability
Since passengers use their own familiar smartphones, operation is more intuitive than with the seat-back devices.
Improved Operational Efficiency and Customer Satisfaction
Requests from passengers are notified to the crew's devices in real-time, shortening response times and improving operational efficiency.
Communication Flow
This app needs to enable real-time information sharing between passengers and crew even without an internet connection on board.
To solve this challenge, the app uses direct device-to-device communication. Even if direct communication is not possible, information is relayed through nearby devices, allowing all crew members to share requests and their status in real-time. This ensures stable communication within the aircraft.
When a passenger makes a request

-
1
A request is sent from the passenger's smartphone to a crew member's device.
※If the communication from the passenger does not reach directly, it is transmitted to all devices via other crew members' devices, so all crew members can see the request.
When a crew member responds

-
2
A notification indicating "response scheduled" is sent from the crew member's device to the passenger's device.
-
3
A notification is sent to other crew members' devices indicating that they are handling the request.
Derivative Application Ideas
In addition to the request function, SyncastRequest can be used as a basis for derivative applications to enhance various in-flight experiences.
The schedule of in-flight events (meal service, lights out, etc.) is unclear, leading to frequent inquiries from passengers and increasing the workload for crew members.
Passengers can check the timetable on their smartphones, allowing them to use their time effectively. This also reduces inquiries to the crew, lessening their workload.
Orders for in-flight sales are limited to seat-back devices or direct requests to the crew, leading to lost sales opportunities.
Passengers can also order from their familiar smartphones, expanding the purchasing channels and leading to increased sales.
During a flight, opportunities for interaction with other passengers are limited, and there are few chances for new encounters or mutual help.
Passengers can enjoy chatting and playing games with each other through the app, fostering communication on board and leading to improved customer satisfaction.
Achieving Long-Range Communication
SyncastRequest achieves stable, long-range communication even in the confined space of an aircraft cabin.
The total length of an aircraft is typically about 74m for a large aircraft and 40m for a medium-sized one. The distance from a passenger's seat to a crew work area is up to about 52m on a large aircraft and 25m on a medium one. Experiments have confirmed that this app's communication technology can reach up to 100m. Even if direct communication is not possible, information is relayed through nearby devices, so we expect stable communication without problems even over a distance of 52m.
